The majority of our members are lecturers in Universities and Higher Education Institutions or Agencies offering further and higher education programmes that lead to (or build towards) a professional qualification in youth and community work. They provide a range of courses to enhance youth and community work practice.

Institutional subscription to the Association is recognised by the National Youth Agency in England, Education and Standards Committee in Wales, CLD Standards Council in Scotland and Youth Council Northern Ireland as evidence of an institutions commitment to staff development, research and knowledge sharing across the sector; which form part of the requirements for professional validation.   Members of professionally qualifying awards can participate in professional validation events as Association representatives and contribute to the quality assurance of validated courses through programme reviews and as external examiners.
