National Youth Agency Launches new Research Hub for Youth Work

The NYA has launched a new 'Research Hub' aimed at improving youth work understanding and practice development through research collaborations.

The Association is pleased to be working in collaboration with the NYA on this project, summarised below:

The Hub has three core purposes:

  1. Share academic learning, access to research reports, trends and analysis produced our expert research network with practitioners, commissioners, funders and policy makers.

  2. Develop a higher profile of our HEI partners’ work alongside our shared roles of creating the next generation of JNC qualified youth work professionals.

  3. Secure funding for Hub members to conduct research to learn more about our profession

How it works:

We recognise the great research that currently exists, but know there is scope to do more.

The NYA will work with its partners to submit stronger funding bids to various research funds and grants and trusts who share our passion for understanding the role an impact of youth work practice.

We feel passionately about the need to strengthen the role of academia across the youth work sector to drive the impact and case for the youth work profession.

Using our reach, any existing knowledge that is relevant to practice today or in the future will be eligible for submission and inclusion to the Hub via the NYA Network.

The NYA will develop an agile governance process alongside the Professional Association of Lecturers in Youth and Community Work made up of institutions, funders and practitioners; this group will help to steer the development of the Hub.

If you wish to join the Hub, please contact us at nya@nya.org.uk and our team will be in touch to discuss your interests.
